DIMMU BORGIR To Guest On This Sunday's 'Rebel Access' TV
August 3, 2007Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR will be the featured band on this Sunday's (August 5) "Rebel Access" TV, which airs at 10:00 p.m. on Channel 19 all over the Chicagoland area. The entire episode is all DIMMU BORGIR, videos, interview, and live performance footage shot while they were in Chicago. The interview with lead guitar player Sven Atle Kopperud (a.k.a. Silenoz) contains his thoughts on how the band first developed back in 1993 ("with both the influences of early black metal and the band BLACK SABBATH") to where they see themselves today. Silenoz's advice to younger musicians is to "play from the heart and don't let yourself become labeled." Silenoz added, "Most importantly, don't let anyone else tell you what is right or wrong and also if you want things done a certain way, don't rely on others to do it for you."
"Rebel Access" features a band one week and plays the hardest "in-your-face" music videos in Chicago the next week.

Due to a recently diagnosed injury, DIMMU BORGIR drummer Hellhammer will be unable to play drums for the band on the remaining festival dates this summer and the upcoming European tour with AMON AMARTH and HATESPHERE.
Hellhammer's x-ray confirmed a severe neck prolapse causing numbness in his right arm. He will be going into treatment for soon and could — quite possibly — undergo corrective surgery.
Taking over drum duties for the upcoming dates will be Tony Laureano (NILE, ANGELCORPSE, AURORA BOREALIS),who played for DIMMU BORGIR during the band's North American stint on Ozzfest in 2004 and during festival performances throughout 2005.
DIMMU's record label said in a statement, "We wish Hellhammer a swift and successful recovery!"
